Traveling to Malaysia is an adventure. The country offers a mix of attractions from cultural monuments to fascinating forest environments. These attractions will delight any adult. However, if you are travelling with kids do not despair, Malaysia has many child friendly attractions to keep them entertained. These attractions are suitable for a large age group from your toddling three year old to your fiercely independent teenager.
If Johor is a stop on your tour through Malaysia make sure you stop of a Legoland Malaysia. This lego filled parks offers hours of entertainment for kids of all ages.
If you have younger children between 3 to 7, you should also visit the Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park. This theme park has many mini theme worlds sch as Hello Kitty Town and Little Big Town. Your kids will have hours of fun with Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, Pingu and Barney.
If you are visiting Kuala Lumpur take a break from the shopping and sightseeing to visit Subway Lagoon. This is an extensive theme park with all types of rides from roller-coasters to water slides. It also has an extreme park and a wildlife park. The combination of the land park and water park can keep your kids entertained and cool on a hot summer day.
Visit the aquarium at KLC. This aquarium has many aquatic species in natural looking enclosures. It also has live feeding shows that bring hidden creatures out of the shadows and into the light.
Another great park to take kids to while in Malaysia is Lost World of Tambun. This amusement park is located in Ipoh. It has both land and water based rides that will thrill older children. There is also a petting zoo for younger children and a hot spring resort for you.
There are also great amusements parks and water parks in Shah Alan such as the Wet World Water Park.
Orang Utan Island
Make sure you stop off at Orang Utan Island which is home to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation. At this center has rescued baby orangutans that will delight the kids. You can also take the opportunity to take a safari through the Orang Utan sanctuary that is located within the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve. This is a virgin rainforest that is home to over 60 orangutans.
